Aug. 23/17- Take time to reset and refuel, quiet your soul above the bustle. – B

The Calgary Tower at dusk in downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

You can find hope if your mind is in good repair and not filled with negative unhealthy thoughts. The Good Book has true encouraging words for this.

“Finally, Brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”  – Philippians 4:8 (NAS)

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”  – Romans 12: 2 (NAS)

Grace to you.

Wonderful Weird Words Wednesday!

Attic salt – definition – Refined incisive wit.

Some of you have more with this than others. Try using this expression some time, have some fun, see if anyone knows or asks what the heck it means.

Grace to you.

Aug. 9 – “Judge each day not be the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

Hope is in planting the seeds. What comes to my mind are children, they are easily influenced. If left to the worldly ways they will be end up empty and confused. Always looking to fill that hole in their heart. They need to be given a good foundation.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.”                                                                                                                                              -Prov. 22:6 (NAS)

There are strong- willed rebellious children who test parents at every opportunity. These are frustrating difficult years, for parents feeling inadequate. I know that it can feel like a lonely time too.

“No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NAS)

“The New Strong-Willed Child” by James Dobson is a good resource.

Remember to plant the seeds!

Grace to you.

Aug. 2 – “You cannot do a kindness too soon for you never know how soon it will be too late.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

I procrastinate at doing some jobs around the house. I put off doing the flower beds, or wait to paint the rusty shed, or tidy the garage. But it probably wouldn’t be well received if I didn’t grocery shop until the milk had curdled and the cheese moulded, or didn’t do the laundry until all underwear had been worn inside out twice, or clean the kitty litter until the cat took a stand and did his business somewhere else.

“The way of the lazy is as a hedge of thorns,                                                                                                But the path of the upright is a highway.”            – Prov. 15:19 (NAS)

When it comes to mending or fixing relationships, we shouldn’t delay, avoid,  or stall. Procrastination is a bad habit that can have lasting effects.

“You too be ready for the Son of man is coming at an hour that you do not expect.”                                                                                                                  – Luke 12:40 (NAS)

Procrastination is a bad habit that can have “eternal” effects.

There is hope! Are you stalling? Make it right! Be ready!

Grace to you.

July 26 – “Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.” -Oscar Wilde (1854-1900)

Picture description: the night skyline of Boston, Massachusetts.

This quote makes me smile, because I know it to be true. There will always be someone that we find hard to endure or tolerate.

Hope is that those who aren’t fond of ourselves will not have an ill will towards us. I know you’re probably thinking those people will be few and far between. My sediments exactly!

I like the way “” answered my question, is it possible to love a person and not like them? I know we are called to love one another as ourselves, but it explains that this is not a love of brotherly affection or emotional connection, as is often thought. Rather, “agape” love that seeks the best for its object.

“This does not mean that you will like every person or even respect them beyond the point of recognizing that they are made in God’s image. God has given us minds to discern, to some extent, the hearts of others. We also are made in God’s image and should not unnecessarily put ourselves in harm’s way by trusting someone who is not worthy of that trust. Jesus slipped away from crowds because He knew their hearts and needed to protect Himself. However, when we place our trust fully in Christ and pursue wisdom and holiness through prayer and the Scriptures, we will naturally develop a love for others—a godly love which sacrifices self by seeking the best for them—whether or not it is accompanied by respect and affection.”  – taken from

July 19 – Just for today fill someone’s emotional tank.

Love is something we do for someone else.

According to author Gary Chapman there are five love languages.

1-Words of affirmation

2-Quality time

3-Receiving gifts- not about materialism but knowing someone’s mind

4-Acts of service

5-Physical touch

Be a depositor and fill the tanks of those closest to you.

Grace to you.
