Even if you have to leave them alone? Yes, this quote made me stop for a moment to think how I’ve experienced it in my life. Then lots of scenarios flooded my memory.
You know when your toddler is in the mud puddle, or eating spaghetti, in a blink of an eye, yikes! Picture it. Not only has the mess spread to their clothes, but their hair is clotted with the goo as well! Yes, that’s more work in an already overfilled work day, but they are smiling from ear to ear. Well it makes for a great pic and a quick dunk in the tub should temporarily return the little tike to his squeaky clean self.
How about that teenager? Sometimes demanding, invincible, self-centered, argumentative, to name a few traits that make you want to pull your hair out! You know when the only one smiling is them. Well to come through those years with most of your sanity intact, you really have to prioritize and pick your fights. Sometimes they need to learn it themselves, provided no one’s health or welfare is in jeopardy.
How about that spouse? When they say they’ll help out, tidy the office or make the bed, or fold the clothes. You can see the pride in their eyes and you can see with your eyes what you may have to redo. But, hey, they were all too happy to help out, so keep it buttoned and let them be happy! Not an easy task for me some days.
Don’t miss an opportunity.

Grace to you.
