Sept. 7 – Music washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.

Ever found yourself singing when you’re upset or mad? Probably not. The appropriate music should raise our spirits and give us a sense of well being.

Want to scratch the surface for hope? There are lots of references to music in the Bible. The first is found in Genesis 4:21-“His brother’s name was Jubal; he was the father of all those who play the lyre and pipe.”

The longest book in the Bible is its song book of Psalms.

James 5:13-“Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone among you cheerful? He is to sing praises.”

Next time you catch yourself humming or singing, give thought to why, and give thanks to Him  for your “why.”

About bshiveofhope

I have worn different hats and travelled down many bunny trails in life- custodian, writer, florist, grandma, community nurse, mom, wife, Jesus Girl. With these vocations have come many stories and life experiences that I want to share with you. They're not all warm and fuzzy, and are sprinkled with humility, and sadness. That's life. We were made for community so let's build each other up with hope and encouragment.
