Want to scratch the surface for hope?  When life is messy and it feels like nothing is as it should be, and our circumstances are painful, it’s difficult to be thankful for anything.

Romans 8:28- “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (NAS)

Not everything we experience will be warm and fuzzy, so we must believe the Word that tells us God will use our painful situations for our spiritual growth. When I had my third child and he was diagnosed with a communication disorder, I thought and felt like I was being punished. In fact it was several years before I realized we had  actually been given a blessing. It was looking back that it all became clear. Sometimes it takes a passage of days, months, and even years to develop an attitude of gratitude for some things. But when it does you’ll experience true joy.
