Nov. 7/18: It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice. (unknown author)

important

Where’s our Hope? I looked up the meaning of nice and was surprised to see that in the 13th century it was used to describe foolish, stupid, senseless, careless, among others. Oh yeah, it was a very nice word indeed, my kind of sarcasm! Then by the 17th century it had developed into meaning good, enjoyable, or of good quality, polite, friendly.

Today nice seems to describe mediocre at best. Oh he’s nice enough but… it was a nice gift….I had a nice time…. not great and not terrible, just somewhere in between. Boring!

Ladies let us not just be nice, lets be worthy!

“Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future .                                             She opens her mouth in wisdom. And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.                                                                                                                                        Proverbs 31:25,26
Peace,
